Report data is created automatically in the process of retailing.

Reports are vital for managing every aspect of retail - purchasing, inventory control, sales analysis, customer relationships - every decision-making area. Your raw data for reports is captured in the process of routine operations - ringing sales, entering orders, receiving goods.

Sales history, for example, is created by recording receipts at POS. That history can be viewed or reported on in many ways, ranging from detailed item reports to reports summarized by style, department, cashier, vendor, or store.
